WRITING FOR THE TRIPS

I worked in Messe, Ambiente fair, every February of 2007', 2008', 2009' and 2010'. Every year gave me different experiences in living and working in the biggest busy city of Germany, Frankfurt Am Main.

2007', absolutely new in Frankfurt, took long time to get the luggage because did not know where to where in the wide & crowed airport, thanks God, the instruction boards were very specific and clear. In addition because a Vietnamese woman transited to another country, she asked me for support as a translator to find the counter for transit. After helping her, I thought about my mother, because that woman did not know how to speak English, so did my mother, by assisting her, I wished that if my mother traveled alone to US like this, she would meet someone like me to give her a hand like I did with this woman.

My colleague was also busy to help another guy before we caught up at the luggage area.

Many visitors complimented my "ao dai" (Vietnamese traditional long dress) was very very nice. A Filipino said to me she would like to have one 'ao dai' sewed when she go to Viet Nam. That was the reason, winter was winter, cold was cold, I was loyal to 'ao dai' at work...

I loved Berliner from the very first time I tasted it. Missing it till now. Even though, I went to a German shop in Viet Nam to buy a Berliner but totally disappointed about the taste, not what I ate in Schwetzingen...

Interesting to know most of German restaurant closed on Monday.

2008', a chance to visit Paris from Schwetzingen, but had to go to their bus stop in Kassuhe (I forgot the name of the town). Certainly, after my duty in the exhibition had been done.

My co-worker was till with me in this second business trip. She went back with her family. I spent some more days being back-package traveler.

Gave a French beggar 1 EUR which I never give the beggar in Viet Nam with that amount. 1 EUR = 24,000 VND, I could give to more than 10 Vietnamese beggars. I dared to offer because I saw it was winter, very cold and he had no blanket, no heater, homeless, etc. Paris also has the poor along the street and next to the traffic light as Viet Nam. The market opposite to my mini hotel was selling German goods, I came there to find French things, without realization until a seller told me! Seine river was very nice, so is the Eiffel tower. It was bright and lighting at 7:00pm. We just came on time to see many colors lighting. It was cold, an old German woman squeezed my hand. My gratitude...

2009', I went without my colleague, a chance to go to the huge zoo with my boss in winter in a waiting day for the flight back to Viet Nam. Drank coffee in German coffee shop. Dinner in German food shop.

Had an opportunity to welcome the lunar new year eve with the Vietnamese community in Phat Hue pagoda opposite to McDonald. I had talked to a German monk there.

2010', joined the big party on the first day of Messe which my boss did not took me in the last three years!!! He did not care... Anyway, sausages I loved German sausages.

A week in Dresden before the fair was a very interesting time. I visited the museum, the palace where the king of the town stayed... Worked until 2:00am afterwards. Who said working abroad is gifted?!?!
